Please come join us & FIU School of Environment, Arts and Society to Celebrate and Honor our amazing SFL natural environment & ecosystems in recognition of Earth & Arbor Day...

We will be planting new native shrubs & trees, cleaining up litter & debris, AND vigorously removing invasive plants...and also KICKING OFF an exciting GREEN SPACE Project to include educational elements, green infrastructure & a butterfly garden in the next phases :)

The City of North Miami Beach, Florida has been an amazing stakeholder and partner - sharing our vision to CREATE a magnificent community GREEN SPACE!

SFM Services, Inc. is greatly boosting our ability to GREEN and REVITALIZE this lot with about 100 DONATED PLANTS + TREES & a crew to help us!

Starbucks is providing their delicious coffee to get our energy up (plus we use their coffee grounds as a wonderful soil amendment)!!

Whole Foods Market is donating snacks to insure fully fueled voluteers that morning!

VERY EXCITING NEWS THAT BG Oleta River Outdoor Center is throwing an after party w/ free lunch for the first 75 volunteers in the Blue Marlin Fish House parking lot after our volunteer event!

And the Museum Volunteers for the Environment - MUVE crew is lending some equipment, supplies & additional planting expertise!!

Location is Oleta River State parkland on the corner of NE 163rd Street & Biscayne Boulevard (next to the Shell station)....

More Details:
It is best to wear solid shoes/sun protective clothes/hat/ sunscreen and gloves. Please bring a REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE for cold water refills & reusable cup for Starbucks coffee. Great if you can bring at least one glove (can be from garden, kitchen, plastic, etc) because trash pickup can be messy and we'll also be digging in the dirt!

We are looking forward to seeing you at Oleta this Saturday!!

And, again, don't forget: NO SINGLE USE PLASTIC bottles allowed at this litter-free event so please bring a resuable cup or bottle for cold water.
