Butterfly Garden Volunteer Day!
Join us for a Friends of Oleta casual Butterfly Garden volunteer day in preparation for the Nov. 13th Event! Our Family of Garden volunteers, including our partner Girl Scouts, will get together to cleanup, boost and beautify the Garden in prep for the big Nov. 13th community event! Project Info: We continue to revamp and revitalize Oleta's Butterfly Garden, with the goal to redesign the entrance area by adding new native plants and paths, to include EDUCATION and ECOLOGY signage in later stages. The goal is to create spaces where park goers can count butterflies & learn about our native flora and fauna - while boosting Oleta's BIODIVERSITY & ECOSYSTEMS. More info soon please contact the Friends directly for more information: oletaspfriends@gmail.com Event Guidelines: It is best to wear solid shoes, sun-protective clothing, a hat and sunscreen. Please bring a REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE for cold water/drink refills - and at least one glove (can be from garden, kitchen, plastic, etc) because we'll be digging in the dirt! Pls, pls remember: NO SINGLE USE PLASTIC bottles allowed at this litter-free event so please bring a resuable cup or bottle for cold water refills. COMMUNITY SERVICE credits available to students volunteering. Kids under 15 MUST be supervised by adult unless prearranged with the Friends.
